Afternoon Afrobeat (#39): 'Gunshot' by Sarkodie ft. Davido

Sarkodie is at it again. It seems like he has released so many songs this year, many in collaboration with other African artists, in preparation for the album he hopes to release in 2013. I say, keep them coming!

In September, Sarkodie collaborated with Nigeria's D'banj and together they released the track 'Come to Me' - a fantastically catchy song if you have no heard it yet.

In late November, Sarkodie dropped his song ‘Illuminati’ in which he raps in lightning-fast Twi. A free download of the track is available from my friends over at OkayAfrica. I’d recommend grabbing that download now in case it stops being available.

Yesterday Sarkodie released his video of the song ‘Gunshot’ that features Nigeria's Davido. I must say, I’m quite a fan of Ghana-Nigeria collaborations lately. Sorry folks, from what I can tell there are no legal free downloads of this one I’m afraid to say, so you will just have to enjoy the Youtube video until Sarkodie’s album is released.

Given that Sarkodie is releasing new songs as fast as his rapping, I might recommend following him on Twitter and Facebook in order to keep updated. Enjoy today’s afrobeats!
