Mocha Club

I Need Africa More Than Africa Needs Me
The video posted above says every thought that went through my head after returning from Sierra Leone. It's true that those most parts of Africa desperately need our help; however, there's so much that we need to learn from them. Joy can thrive in even the most destitute of places.
The organization behind that video is The Mocha Club. The premise behind their name is that for the price of two mochas a month ($7) you can help those in need in Africa. They have five projects they donate to: women at risk, clean water, education, health care, and orphan care. By signing up for The Mocha Club, your donation of $7 a month will contribute to those initiatives. If you don't feel like joining, but would still like to help out, there are many other ways to contribute. For example, you can donate to feed the hungry, give clean water, provide health care for a HIV+ people, mothers, and children. Don't have any money to donate? Then volunteer with them, sign a petition calling for famine relief, or advocate and represent The Mocha Club at your school. I thought this organization had a really cool concept and I loved their slogan of 'I need Africa more than Africa needs me' because it's absolutely true. Make sure you give their website a closer look. I hope you like it as much as I do!
